چکیده

Nine different compositions of growing media were evaluated for tomato and capsicum in two consecutive years (2020 2021). Experiments conducted Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) under rain shelter (poly house) with three replications. The Cocopeat, FYM+Cocopit+Perlite, FYM+ Cocopit+Vermiculite, FYM+Perlite, FYM+Soil, FYM+Vermiculite, Vermicompost+Perlite, Vermicompost +Soil Vermicompost+Vermiculite. There significant (P<0.05) differences the observed parameters like number seedlings emergence, seedling establishment, leaves, height diameter stem among tested media. highest emergence sweet pepper recorded cocopeat as a After 30 days after seed sowing (DAS) tomato, (103.5) found Cocopeat tallest (19.92 cm) was Vermicompost+ perlite. Similarly, Capsicum (40DAS), (83.5) only, followed by + Perlite (78) (13.89 Vermicompost+Vermiculite grown seedlings. good root plug formation use cocopeat. Therefore, vermicompost or FYM mixed form soil would be sustainable technology commercial production vegetables.

Evaluation of Different Growing Media and Nitrogen Fertilizer on Some Morphological Traits in Spathiphyllum wallisii L.

In order to evaluate the different growing media and nitrogen fertilizer (urea) on some morphological traits of Spathiphyllum plant, an experiment was carried out in split plot arrangement based on completely randomized design in three replications in greenhouse conditions in 2018. The main plot consisted of different growing media including T1: Leaf-mold, T2: Vermicompost and T3: A mi...

Effect of Different Growing Media and Super Absorbent on Vegetative and Reproductive Growth of Bell Pepper under Salinity Stress Conditions

The use of suitable substrate for vegetable production may reduce losses in production caused by salinity. In order to determine suitable substrate for bell pepper cv. 'California Wonder' under salinity stress conditions, a factorial experiment based on completely randomized design with 4 replications was performed. The experiment consisted of three factors of substrate (coconut fibre, 50% fine...

Fruit Detectability Analysis for Different Camera Positions in Sweet-Pepper †

For robotic harvesting of sweet-pepper fruits in greenhouses a sensor system is required to detect and localize the fruits on the plants. Due to the complex structure of the plant, most fruits are (partially) occluded when an image is taken from one viewpoint only. In this research the effect of multiple camera positions and viewing angles on fruit visibility and detectability was investigated....

Evaluation of the Growth and Thermodynamic Properties of Frankenia on Different Growing Media in an External Green Wall

Currently, the idea of integrating nature and buildings through green roofs and green walls has been considered as a sustainable strategy in cities. However, studies on the substrates which allow the plants to fully establish in these systems are still lacking. It is also a challenge to find the substrates which provide the plants with proper growth, nutrition, and environmental sustainabilit...
